Origin: Jinotega is in the north of the capital Managua and also have been named as „the capital of coffee“. With a surface of 9755 km² and a population of 257 933 people Jinotega is one of the biggest regions in Nicaragua. 40% of the whole coffee crop in Nicaragua comes from that region.
The plantage is leaded by the 3rd generation of Family López , which cultivates coffees for 95 years. A yearly harvest on 379 hectare earns 5-6 containers of finest Premium SHG qualities. The croped coffee will be picked, processed, washed and dried locally. Family López gladly invest in further development of their Finca and supports several social projects in Jinotega.
Abbreviation SHG Strictly High Grown means (only high-rising) and determines the coffee plantations from 1200 to 2000 m above sea level
