About flow control

Flow control is a great and relatively inexpensive way to enhance your brewing experience on your E61 group machine. Flow control allows you to limit and reduce the flow of water through your group head during the brewing process. As a result, you can run a low-flow pre-infusion to saturate the coffee, and once it is saturated, you can switch to a higher flow rate to complete the extraction. This low-flow pre-infusion intensifies the flavor of the coffee and produces a thicker, richer shot, with more intense sweetness and aromatics.

Use Portafilter

Pasquini Coffee Co. recommends pairing the flow control upgrade with an E61 bottomless portafilter, as this ensures you can see everything that's happening with your extraction and allows you to better control the brewing process for the perfect shot.
